This is the political map of New Zealand. Surprisingly though, there are no separately represented subnational entities, such as provinces, states, or territories, apart from the local government in New Zealand. The early European settlers had divided New Zealand into provinces in the past, but these were abolished in 1876 so that the government could be centralised, for financial reasons. However, the provinces can be seen as rivalry occurs often between the different provinces which used to exist. Therefore, this map shows the past provinces and their capitals. Overall, we can say that in the current era, New Zealand is divided into the North Island and the South Island.
Physical Regions of New Zealand
This is a physical map of New Zealand. This map shows that there is actually a large area of elevation, or mountainous territory, in the southern island. This area is called the Southern Alps. Aisde from a small area of high elevation in the North Island, there is a bit of elevation surrounding the mountainous territories in both islands, and as we move farther out from the center of New Zealand, the elevation begins to drop.
Climate Regions of New Zealand
This is a climate map of New Zealand. As we can see, there are many different variations of temperature within New Zealand. Mostly, the tempareature is aroudn 8.1~10 degrees celcius or 10.1~12 degrees celcius. The North Island generally seems hotter in temperature compared to the Southern Island, but this mostly has to do with the Southern Alps.
Vegetation Regions of New Zealand
This is a map showing the vegeation regions of New Zealand. As we can see from the map, New Zealand is mostly a pastoral area, with a little bit of forest areas spread out between the North and South Islands. There are very few dairy areas though compared to other areas.
